The Álava Provincial Council has approved an aid call worth 777,554.66 euros to promote the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the territory.

The governing council of the Álava Provincial Council approved this Tuesday the 'Alava InterKOOP 2026' call for aid. The objective is to foster the internationalization of the territory's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), through both individual inter-company projects and collaborative projects. In total, 777,554.66 euros will be allocated to this initiative.
As detailed by the officials of the provincial institution, this call aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the business network in the Araba territory and facilitate its access to foreign markets. To this end, the aid lines support individual internationalization projects and collaborative business initiatives. "This formula allows SMEs to share resources, reduce risks, and leverage synergies when entering new markets," they stated.
The call will have a budget of 388,777.33 euros for the 2026 fiscal year, with the same amount committed for 2027. Thus, the total allocation will amount to 777,554.66 euros. Of this sum, 537,554.66 euros will be directly for companies, and 240,000 euros for non-profit organizations.
SMEs with their registered office and tax domicile, production center, or services located in Araba, and with at least one year of seniority, will be eligible to receive aid. Similarly, promoting entities that lead support projects for SMEs in Álava and non-profit organizations representing the Álava productive network with proven experience in international promotion may also apply.
Subsidizable activities include the development of strategic internationalization plans, conducting market and feasibility studies, legal, tax, or financial consulting, commercial trips and missions, attendance at international trade fairs, product exhibitions, website adaptation, translations, promotional materials, prototype development, homologations, certifications, international trademark registration, and the acquisition of software or technological platforms related to the project.
