XCharge (CHG Limited), a provider of electric vehicle charging solutions and high-performance energy storage, has officially opened its new facilities in Silla. This plant, spanning nearly 3,000 m², will become the production hub for high-power charging infrastructure and battery systems for the European market, under the 'Made in Spain' label.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including Javer Lázaro, Commercial Director of XCharge Europe; Albina Iljasov, Director of XCharge Europe; Jaime Peris, Special Commissioner for Government Reindustrialization; Felipe Carrasco, Regional Secretary for Industry; and Vicente Zaragozá, Mayor of Silla. Representatives from partners such as Repsol, Acciona, Remo, and the Iberdrola Bp Pulse joint venture were also present.
The Silla plant will focus on assembling advanced equipment, such as the GridLink system, which can deliver nearly 200 kW of power with only a 44 kW grid input, thanks to its patented 215 kWh battery storage system, expandable to 430 kWh. This technology enables ultra-fast charging without requiring modifications to existing electrical installations and ensures independent charger operation during power outages.
“"This investment in Silla is not just an assembly plant project; it is the physical expression of XCharge's commitment to Europe, to Spain, to the country's industrialization, and for Spain to play a fundamental role in the global energy transition."
Albina Iljasov highlighted that the Silla factory will include an assembly line, a warehouse, and testing facilities, with production capacity adjusted to real demand. Regarding job creation, Iljasov stated that the hiring process would begin soon, primarily seeking technical profiles and engineers for the testing area.
The Commissioner for Reindustrialization emphasized the importance of making electric vehicles more accessible, while the Regional Secretary for Industry, Felipe Carrasco, noted that the Generalitat has allocated over 100 million euros to boost electric mobility in the Comunitat Valenciana. The Mayor of Silla, Vicente Zaragozá, concluded that this project represents a "strategic engine" for local economic development, technological innovation, and job creation.
