The North African country leads the destination for Cadiz's products, ranking ahead of powers such as Germany (212 million euros) and the United States (190 million euros). Along with Portugal, Morocco is emerging as a strategic partner for the absorption of raw materials for the province.
During the year 2023, a total of 23 companies from Cadiz maintained direct commercial relations with Morocco. In 2025, companies from the province carried out 4,907 commercial operations to send over 903,000 tons of merchandise to the Alawite market.
The main products exported from Cadiz to Morocco were mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation, bituminous material, and mineral waxes, valued at 476 million euros. 835,627 tons were shipped in 399 operations.
Copper ranked second in exports, with 13,374 tons generating revenues of 121.9 million euros. Other exported products included organic chemical products (4 million euros), beverages (3 million euros), nuclear reactors and machinery (7.3 million euros), and iron and steel (4.9 million euros).
Regarding purchases made by Cadiz companies in Morocco, these amounted to 212.6 million euros, acquiring 42,757 tons in 17,238 operations. The main imported product was fish and seafood, costing 163 million euros.
Other significant imports included glass and its manufactures (2.5 million euros), electrical machinery and equipment (8.5 million euros), vegetables (5.3 million euros), and fruits (17.2 million euros).
Since October, the Port of Cadiz has reactivated its maritime connectivity with Morocco through a new regular container service linking to Casablanca. This route, operated by TAILWIND Shipping Lines, includes calls at European and international ports and has restored commercial freight traffic between Andalusia and North Africa.
