Ribera Alta Region Reduces Unemployment by 3.55% in One Year

The region records 412 fewer unemployed in June 2026, with significant improvements in Alzira and Algemesí, but increases in Alberic and Montserrat.

The Ribera Alta region has experienced an improvement in the labor market, reducing the number of unemployed people by 412 in June 2026 compared to the previous year, a drop of 3.55%.

The Ribera Alta region has seen a favorable evolution in its labor market over the past year, reaching a total of 11,204 unemployed people in June 2026, compared to 11,616 recorded in the same period of 2025. This absolute reduction of 412 job seekers represents a 3.55% contraction in unemployment across the territory. The gender gap persists, with 7,125 women and 4,079 men unemployed.
The main improvements have been concentrated in the localities with the largest demographic weight. Alzira leads the absolute decrease, going from 2,763 to 2,593 unemployed, a reduction of 170 people, particularly women. Algemesí, the second locality with the largest net decrease, dropped from 1,459 to 1,353 unemployed, with the fall being led by the male sector. Other municipalities such as l’Alcúdia (51 fewer people) and Benifaió (38 fewer people) have also seen their figures reduced.
Conversely, Alberic stands out negatively with an increase of 39 unemployed, raising its total to 574, with a strong female component. Montserrat also registers an increase of 23 unemployed people. In percentage terms, the largest relative increases are found in smaller populations such as Senyera (+32.1%), Antella (+22.2%), and Alfarb (+21.3%).
In contrast, localities like Sumacàrcer lead the percentage decreases with a reduction of 27.6%, followed by Cotes (-27.3%) and Sellent (-20%). Gavarda and Llombai also show significant drops.
Finally, municipalities such as Carcaixent, Carlet, Castelló, and Benimodo have shown notable stability in their unemployment figures, with minimal variations compared to the previous year.
