The Madrid region has added 132,684 new jobs in the last fiscal year, surpassing the national growth rate of 2.8% by almost a full point. This boost brings the number of Social Security affiliates to 3,934,223 contributors, representing 17.5% of the country's total.
The Community of Madrid is responsible for 21.9% of the new jobs created in Spain, equivalent to more than one in every five positions generated nationally. On a daily basis, an average of 364 jobs were created in the region.
Regarding job quality, out of the 233,506 contracts signed in the last 12 months, 45.3% were permanent, nearly four points higher than the national average of 41.5%.

The decline in unemployment has been widespread, affecting both men and women equally with a -1.8% decrease for both. All sectors have experienced a reduction in unemployment, with Construction (-12%) and Agriculture (-7.6%) standing out, followed by Industry (-1.6%) and Services (-0.8%).
Furthermore, the number of self-employed individuals in Madrid has increased by 9,257, representing a +2.1% rise compared to the previous year. The total number of self-employed workers reaches 446,629, the highest figure recorded since data collection began.
