The Colmenar Viejo City Council has implemented eAgora, a new free application that allows residents to manage procedures, report incidents, and receive municipal information directly on their mobile devices, modernizing citizen interaction.

The town of Colmenar Viejo has taken a significant step towards modernizing its administration with the official launch of eAgora. This digital platform, available free of charge, aims to simplify the daily lives of citizens by centralizing various municipal procedures into a single tool. The initiative responds to the growing demand for agility and efficiency in the relationship between residents and their city council, adapting to technological changes over the last decade.
Among the key functionalities of eAgora, the ability to report incidents on public roads stands out. Users can report defects such as broken streetlights or loose tiles, using geolocation for precise identification of the problem. Furthermore, the application allows for tracking the resolution status of each report, keeping citizens informed at all times about the progress of their request. It also facilitates the completion of procedures and requests electronically, eliminating the need for in-person visits.

"The implementation of this application responds to the need to offer a more accessible, efficient, and closer administration. Residents will be able to carry out procedures from their mobile, without travel or waiting, and will receive municipal information immediately."

The platform also becomes a direct channel for information and citizen participation. Residents will receive real-time notices and notifications on relevant issues such as traffic cuts, events, or emergency situations. Additionally, they will have access to Colmenar Viejo's cultural and sports agenda, and will be able to participate in surveys or consultations on local projects. This strategy has already been successfully implemented in other municipalities in the Community of Madrid, such as Pozuelo de Alarcón, Boadilla del Monte, Torrejón de Ardoz, and Galapagar.
The Councillor for Digitalization, Nacho Aceña Alcázar, emphasized that, although the application is already available for download on iOS and Android devices, as well as a web version, traditional tools will remain operational to facilitate a gradual adaptation. This coexistence of systems aims to ensure that no citizen is left behind in the digitalization process, allowing each person to choose the communication channel that best suits their needs.
