Workers at Ingeteam Indar Machines have secured a new collective bargaining agreement through mobilizations, as announced by the LAB union, with the workers' assembly approving the deal by a majority.

The LAB union has announced, via a press release, that workers at Ingeteam Indar Machines have achieved a new labor agreement following mobilizations that began on March 5. The union congratulated the workers for their struggle and emphasized that unity and steadfastness were crucial in overcoming the management's lack of willingness to negotiate.

"Thanks to the widespread participation in the stoppages and strikes, the new agreement has been achieved at Ingeteam Indar Machines."

The mobilizations commenced on March 5, citing at the time the “management's lack of willingness to discuss certain essential issues.” Following negotiations and the mobilizations, LAB explained that the main advances achieved include the recovery of purchasing power, an improved employment policy agreement, increased sick leave supplements, and better conditions for subcontractors. Despite initial difficulties, management was compelled to move forward with these measures.
Although the schedule of stoppages and strikes was agreed upon until the end of April, an agreement has been reached with management. The majority of the workers' assembly voted in favor of signing the agreement. LAB believed that the process was not entirely exhausted and that “a final effort could have allowed for further improvements to the employment policy agreement,” but they respected the assembly's decision and valued the progress made.
The union stated that, looking ahead, the challenge will be to continue on the path taken, delving into pending issues and fighting for new objectives. LAB has committed to continuing this course.
