The objective of the Basque Global Industry program is fundamental for Euskadi, as it promotes the internationalization of young professionals, improving their adaptability to global environments and markets. By offering work experience abroad, the program helps acquire valuable knowledge, skills, and contacts. This strengthens the professional profile of young people and contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of Euskadi's business structure.
Thanks to the program, young Basques can supplement their academic training through internships in international companies and organizations. This not only enhances their curriculum but also allows them to better adapt to the demands of the global market.
Beneficiaries will receive paid internships of up to €1,785 gross per month, enabling them to gain international experience, develop intercultural skills, and establish a global network of contacts, thereby increasing their employability and creating new professional opportunities.
The program finances a variety of essential expenses and activities for international mobility and training, including initial training (a 40-60 hour course), internships lasting between 6 and 12 months, a monthly allowance of €1,785 gross, and insurance coverage.
Since 2012, over 5,500 young people have received this scholarship. They have completed internships in more than 500 leading companies and organizations located in 60 countries across five continents. The average stay has been 8 months. Notable institutions include the Fraunhofer Institute, Microsoft, Harvard Medical School, and UN Women, as well as leading Basque companies in strategic sectors with an international presence.
Aid can be applied for by those holding a higher education university degree or a higher vocational training qualification, who are under 30 years old as of January 1, 2026, reside in the Basque Autonomous Community, and have a command of English. The selection process includes reviewing regulations, preparing documentation, and submitting the application to collaborating entities between July 23 and September 21, 2026.
