The Official College of Commercial Agents (COAC) is celebrating its first centenary in Sabadell. To commemorate this milestone, an event open to the public has been organized for June 5th at the Fira Sabadell facilities. The event will feature a talk by the renowned speaker, trainer, and writer specializing in non-verbal language, Jordi Reche.
The current president of the COAC, Pere Carrio, highlighted that Jordi Reche's talk, who has over 800,000 Instagram followers, is open to all citizens. "A great communicator who will teach us a lot in an activity that we want to extend to everyone who wishes to join us," he stated. In addition to the talk, the event will include institutional speeches to celebrate the college's centenary. Registration is free and now open.
Regarding the college's situation, Carrio assures it is in a "good situation" with approximately 120 active members in its district, which includes Sabadell and its surrounding area. This positions them as the third or fourth largest commercial agents' college in Catalonia among the ten existing ones. Despite some growth and efforts to build a network, the president notes that a significant portion of members are retiring, and younger commercial agents face challenges entering the profession.
According to Carrio, the salary instability associated with the profession, which depends on commissions and can be highly variable, deters young people seeking fixed hours and salaries. Furthermore, the proximity of Barcelona leads some professionals to register there, even if they belong to the Sabadell district. The COAC aims to attract them by offering a "closer and more direct" relationship due to its smaller size.
The COAC, located on Carrer d’Agnès Armengol in the La Creu Alta neighborhood, faces the challenge of adapting to modern times. Marketing products and services in the age of artificial intelligence, rapid impacts, and social media differs significantly from how it was done in 1926, when Sabadell had fewer than 40,000 inhabitants.
