The award was presented during the launch of ‘Who's Who in Málaga 2026’, an event that gathered over 500 representatives from the province's business sector. The President of the Chamber of Commerce, José Carlos Escribano de Garaizabal, accepted the distinction.
Escribano de Garaizabal highlighted the significance of the recognition on the institution's 140th anniversary, emphasizing "140 years of history, of permanent commitment to the economic and social development of Málaga." He noted the Chamber's evolution to meet business needs, remaining "useful, close, and committed".
The Chamber's trajectory, which began in 1886, has been characterized by representing and defending Málaga's business community, as well as creating spaces for networking and collaboration. Escribano stressed that the Chamber's usefulness stems from its dedication to serving businesses.
The publication ‘Who's Who in Málaga 2026’, a reference tool reflecting the province's diverse productive landscape, served as the backdrop for the award ceremony. The Chamber acknowledged the initiative for providing a comprehensive overview of Málaga's companies.
The president linked the award to the future, stating that the anniversary is a "declaration of commitment to the business Málaga of the future," aimed at established companies, young entrepreneurs, local businesses, SMEs undergoing digital transformation, and innovative firms.
Escribano thanked Diario SUR and San Telmo Business School for the award, expressing pride and the responsibility to "continue living up to what Málaga expects".
The Málaga Chamber of Commerce views this award as a shared recognition with the province's companies and entrepreneurs, as well as with all individuals who have contributed to its work over 140 years in service of Málaga's economic and business development.
