The Government of Catalonia has announced the activation of the 2026 call for Nuclear Transition Funds, endowed with 35 million euros, to promote business projects and job creation in the regions affected by the closure of the Ascó and Vandellòs nuclear power plants.

These grants, managed by the ACCIÓ agency of the Department of Business and Work, will be published shortly in the Official Gazette of the Government of Catalonia (DOGC). The initial allocation will be 15 million euros, which will be progressively expanded to reach the total of 35 million.
The governing body of the Nuclear Funds met this Thursday in Bovera, in the Garrigues region, where it approved and validated the new call. This edition incorporates "improvements" compared to previous ones, with the aim of making it more effective and adapted to the needs of the territory.
The subsidy line is designed to support a wide range of projects. It includes investments in fixed assets for the creation of new establishments, the incorporation of new activities, or the expansion of productive capacity. The creation of a minimum of three new jobs per project will also be incentivized.
Furthermore, the aid includes business plans for strategic changes, talent implementation, cooperative projects, high value-added entrepreneurship initiatives, and technological innovation projects that foster the digital and green transformation of businesses in the region.
