The Local Government Board of the Telde City Council unanimously approved the awarding of the contract for the renewal and improvement of the Managed Detection and Response (MDR) Service, a tool aimed at reinforcing the protection of municipal computer systems against viruses, unauthorized access, and other digital threats.
The contract, awarded to Telefónica Soluciones de Informática y Comunicaciones de España, S.A.U., amounts to 113,255.56 euros, including IGIC. This specialized system will permanently monitor municipal equipment to detect and respond to potential computer threats.
The service includes 366 licenses based on CrowdStrike technology and encompasses functions such as antivirus, incident detection and response, endpoint protection, USB device and firewall control, proactive threat hunting, and attack analysis tools. It goes beyond a simple antivirus, providing a system capable of identifying suspicious behaviors and facilitating a response to security incidents.
This measure will enhance the security of equipment used by municipal services, protecting the information and systems essential for the daily operation of the Administration. It includes 'threat hunting' to proactively search for indicators of threats before they escalate into major problems.
The contract will have an initial duration of four years, with the possibility of an additional one-year extension. The Telde City Council thus continues its modernization efforts and the protection of public services against digital risks, managed by the New Technologies department.
