The initiative, selected under the Ports 4.0 call by Puertos del Estado, has worked for three years on developing tools based on Artificial Intelligence. The main goal has been to improve logistics efficiency, security, and the protection of port infrastructures by integrating data from in-situ sensors, such as radars, thermal cameras, and LIDAR systems.
During the event, the milestones achieved were showcased, including validation tests conducted at the ICTS-PLOCAN test bed. Among the technological solutions presented are the AIMI (AI Maritime Intelligence), SCS (Smart Coast Surveillance), and SCS+ systems, which have already begun their first commercial operations.
The development of these technologies involved the collaboration of various entities, including the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria through the CTIM, and the port authorities of Las Palmas and Gijón. The platform utilized advanced technical infrastructure, including coastal camera networks and unmanned vessels, to implement its solutions in real-world environments.
