The City Museum of Móstoles was the venue for the recognition event, where awards were presented to 24 businesses from Móstoles with over five decades of operation. These companies and businesses have been distinguished for their contribution to society and the business development of the city.
The event was attended by the mayor of Móstoles, Manuel Bautista, accompanied by several members of the Municipal Corporation, including the Councilor for Economy, Industry, Employment, Development, and Tourism Promotion, Ángeles García. The mayor emphasized the importance of these companies, calling them "fundamental pieces in the business and commercial fabric of our city".
Bautista highlighted the boost these companies have given to the "local economy, creating employment and building community," and acknowledged "the effort and work carried out throughout this time to maintain your businesses with the same enthusiasm and quality as when you started." He stressed that they generate "wealth and prosperity in Móstoles and provide solutions and services to citizens".
The honored businesses span diverse sectors such as food, textiles, fashion, health, hospitality and catering, or metal carpentry, among others. Awardees include the Provincial Association of Driving Schools of Madrid, Carnicería el 46, Casquería Cañitas, Clínica Dos de Mayo, Fremap, Lotería "La Quince", and Panadería Zarate, among others.
As an honorary guest company, Los Combos was recognized. This dairy company, founded in Móstoles in 1945 with its own livestock and artisan products, is currently led by its 92-year-old owner, Juan Francisco Pontes. It sells over one and a half million liters of milk annually throughout Spain and is the only farm dispensing large quantities of fresh milk in the region.
