According to municipal forecasts, the arrival of these smaller, more exclusive ships will commence on Thursday, April 9, with the docking of the Emerald Azzurra, a superyacht designed for 100 passengers. This trend is expected to continue throughout the month and into May, with some vessels making double calls.
Among the boutique cruises scheduled to visit Arrecife are the Le Bougainville, Le Bellot, Emerald Sakara, World Voyager, Sea Cloud Spirit, Douglas Mawson, and Exploris One, as estimated by Mayor Yonathan de León. These luxury ships will complement the calls from larger, conventional cruise liners, utilizing both the Naos facilities and the main dock of Los Mármoles.
“"Passengers on these ultra-luxury ships are noted for their higher spending levels at the destination, where they shop in local businesses and enjoy gastronomic experiences in the restaurants of the ports they visit."
Eli Merino, the Councillor for Tourism and Commerce of Arrecife, highlighted the economic significance of these boutique cruises for the local economy. Merino emphasized that tourists from these luxury vessels tend to spend more at their destinations, benefiting the city's shops and restaurants. Consequently, the island's capital aims to establish itself as a regular port of call for such ships.
