The Port of Málaga has hosted the third edition of Málaga Fruit Day at the University of Málaga's Rectorate, an event focused on the prospects of international horticultural trade and the port's role.

The event, which had the collaboration of the FGUMA (General Foundation of the University of Málaga), addressed the port's role as an entry point for perishable goods from Latin America and Málaga's potential to strengthen trade flows between the continent and European markets.

The president of the Port Authority, Carlos Rubio Basabe, highlighted the presence of exporting companies from Chile, Peru, and Costa Rica, as well as entrepreneurs from Axarquía with expertise in subtropical product transport.
Eugenio Luque, director of FGUMA, welcomed the attendees. Following this, Mauricio Quesada, director of the Board of Directors of CADEXCO (Costa Rica), delivered the conference titled “Geopolitical evolution and its influence on the foreign trade of fruit”.
