The banking institution announced the creation of this body, which will serve an informative and consultative role. Its members, appointed by the foundation's board of trustees, will serve two-year terms.
The council includes prominent figures from various Andalusian provinces. Representing Málaga are the president and general director of Fundación Unicaja, José Manuel Domínguez and Sergio Corral, respectively. The council also features Francisco Aguado (Huelva), Tomás Cano (Almería), Carmen Espín (Jaén), Alberto Fernández and Concepción de Luna (Granada), Juan de la Haba (Córdoba), Antonio Pascual and Fátima Ribas (Sevilla), Alfonso Pozuelo and Paula Vílches (Cádiz). Manuel Atencia will serve as a non-member secretary.
Council members bring extensive expertise from diverse fields. For instance, Francisco Aguado is a titular professor of Financial Economics at the University of Huelva; Tomás Cano holds doctorates in Biblical Theology and Law; Carmen Espín is a pediatrician and former president of Fundación Unicaja Jaén; Alberto Fernández is an emeritus professor of Analytical Chemistry; Juan de la Haba coordinates Medical Oncology at the Reina Sofía University Hospital in Córdoba; Antonio Pascual chairs the Academy of Social Sciences and Environment of Andalusia; Alfonso Pozuelo is a lawyer in Cádiz; Concepción de Luna is CEO of DelunA Group; Fátima Ribas is a lawyer and university professor; and Paula Vílches is the dean of the Official College of Architects of Cádiz.
