This initiative, approved by the City Council Plenary with the support of the PP and PSOE, makes Alhendín the first municipality to apply such a significant bonus. It is estimated that this ICIO reduction could save citizens between 2,000 and 3,000 euros when building their first residence.

In addition to the bonus for first homes, the council will apply a 40% discount on the ICIO for Official Protection Homes (VPO), also known as social housing. This measure seeks to support new buyers and individuals facing difficulties in accessing the free housing market.
Mayor Jorge Sánchez Hernández emphasized that, although housing is not a direct responsibility of municipalities, the City Council is utilizing all available tools to facilitate access to a home in Alhendín, especially in a context where housing access is increasingly challenging.

The mayor also highlighted the importance of these bonuses in helping young people and families settle in the municipality, offering considerable savings in the acquisition of their first home.
