The Councilor for Employment and IMEFE, Luis García Millán, has signed a new agreement with the University of Jaén for the UJA Employment Fair. The agreement was formalized with the Vice-Rector for Students and Employability of the University of Jaén, Teresa Pérez Giménez, and aims to strengthen collaboration between both institutions to foster the connection between university talent and the province's business fabric.
The Employment Fair will run from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM and will bring together companies from various sectors with students and graduates from the University of Jaén. The objective is to facilitate direct contact between those seeking to enter the job market and companies currently seeking professionals.
Luis García Millán encouraged students in their final years of study and those seeking employment to participate in this fair. He stated it would allow them to directly understand "what the market demands are and check if their profile fits the needs of companies, or what training and skills they can enhance to improve their insertion opportunities."
The councilor highlighted the collaboration of the Jaén City Council, through IMEFE, with the University of Jaén to make this initiative possible. He emphasized the importance of coordination between administrations to promote employment and job placement for young people and graduates. IMEFE will provide students with a bus service connecting the University of Jaén campus ( Ibn Saprut street) with IFEJA every half hour, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
For her part, the Vice-Rector for Students and Employability of the University of Jaén highlighted that the initiative represents "a very important opportunity" to connect students and graduates with companies in the province, and for the business sector to learn firsthand about "all the talent that exists at the University."
The Vice-Rector added that the fair is the result of collaboration and coordination among various administrations, including the Jaén City Council (through IMEFE), the Provincial Council, and the Junta de Andalucía. "The coordination of administrations is fundamental for our students to have many more employment opportunities within our province's territory," she stressed.
The Employment Fair will feature participation from companies in the province interested in incorporating university talent. It will allow students to learn firsthand about their selection processes, professional profiles, and employment opportunities. The institutional inauguration is scheduled for 11:00 AM and will be led by the rector of the University of Jaén.
