Starting Tuesday, October 6th, travelers using the Costa Blanca VIP Lounge at Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport have the opportunity to discover wines from the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Vinos Alicante. This initiative, which will take place weekly, is the result of a collaboration between Esatur, the lounge's managing company, and the Vinos Alicante PDO Regulatory Council.
The events will be held on Tuesdays at midday, with a different winery featured each week. Lounge users will be able to learn about the wines, grape varieties, wine landscapes, and the stories that form part of Alicante's winemaking tradition.
For the launch of this initiative, references from several renowned wineries have already been confirmed, including BOCOPA, Rafa Cañizares, Francisco Gómez, Toneles Centenarios, Santa Catalina Mañán, Fuego Lento, Enrique Mendoza, Bodegas Alejandro, Sierra Salinas, and Bodegas Monóvar. The detailed participation schedule for the wineries will be finalized for upcoming sessions, with plans to expand the list to include all wineries within the designation.
Through this collaboration, both Esatur and the Vinos Alicante PDO Regulatory Council aim to increase the visibility of their wines among national and international travelers. The goal is to enrich the VIP lounge users' experience with a cultural and gastronomic offering closely linked to local products and the identity of the Alicante province.
