The 'International Tourist Profile 2025' report reveals that Valencia has climbed positions as one of Spain's most profitable tourist destinations. The capital of the Turia has successfully attracted a visitor profile with a spending capacity higher than the average for the Valencian Community, consolidating a strategy focused on quality and offering diverse experiences.
While the average daily expenditure in the Valencian Community stands at 140.1 euros, foreign tourists who specifically choose the city of Valencia significantly increase this figure. The average daily expenditure in the capital reaches 163.3 euros, with an average stay of 6.8 days. This difference of more than 23 euros daily compared to the regional average highlights the importance of urban, business, and cultural tourism, where the average ticket for hospitality, shopping, and cultural services is notably higher.
“"Sun and beach tourism no longer absolutely dominates travel, allowing cities like Valencia to lead a real deseasonalization thanks to the boost from the cultural and sports sectors."
Business tourism and sports tourism are the most profitable segments for Valencia. Visitors for business and work record an expenditure of up to 188 euros daily. Meanwhile, sports tourism, with an average of 176 euros per day, attracts a visitor who, despite having a shorter stay (6.7 days), makes a very intense economic investment. Cultural tourism, attracted by the city's heritage and museums, spends an average of 150 euros daily.
Regarding activities, although beach use remains relevant, Valencia stands out in complementary activities. 66.8% of international tourists include urban tours as their main activity, while 68.4% dedicate part of their budget to shopping. Gastronomy and culture exceed 30% interest, with notable growth in attendance at cultural events, which now approaches 10% of all activities.
The majority visitor profile is male (57.3%), aged between 25 and 44 years, with higher education and actively employed. Regarding accommodation, 38.6% opt for the hotel sector and 19.4% for tourist housing. Valencia Airport, along with those of Alicante and Castellón, is the main gateway, channeling 80.8% of international arrivals, underscoring the importance of air connectivity to maintain these spending figures.
