The international ceramics quality congress, Qualicer, holds its XIX edition in Castelló from June 10-12, bringing together 30 speakers from nine countries with a new global and strategic theme.

Castelló will host the XIX edition of Qualicer, the international ceramics quality congress, from June 10-12 at the Auditori de Castelló. This event, organized solely this year by the Official College of Industrial Engineers of Castellón after its separation from the Chamber of Commerce, adopts a "more global, transversal, and strategic" approach under the slogan “Now, the full view”.
Experts and technicians from companies such as Equipe Cerámicas, Grupo Pamesa, and Lamosa will participate, alongside professionals from Germany, Australia, Canada, the United States, Italy, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and Turkey. Key topics to be addressed include industrial electrification, decarbonization, energy efficiency, artificial intelligence, and the evolution of installation and construction models. Approximately 350 attendees are expected.
Mariano Hernández, president of the Official College of Industrial Engineers of Castellón, along with Matías Real, the entity's director, and Javier Rodríguez, congress director, presented the program. Hernández emphasized the sector's current challenges, including the energy transition, EU CO2 emission regulations, and the need for innovation.
As a new feature, Qualicer introduces a third day on June 12: a workshop focused on the pendulum method for testing slip resistance, a critical aspect for pavement safety. This session will gather specialists to discuss regulatory changes and their impact.
The congress will be structured around three main axes: strategy and global competitiveness, sustainability and energy transition, and installation and the future of construction. The Auditori i Palau de Congressos will serve as the venue for this event, which has been held since 1990.
The opening panel will include Julio Pascual (CEO of Grupo Lamosa España), Rogelio Vila (CEO of Equipe Cerámicas), and James Durbin (Vice President of Portobello USA). Subsequent sessions will cover topics such as the development of the ceramic cluster, competitiveness between Spain and China, energy efficiency, electrification in ceramics, artificial intelligence, and the future of installation.
