PortCastelló handled 925,309 tons of liquid bulk, setting a new record for the month of July, and a total of 1,875,590 tons in merchandise traffic. The total merchandise traffic for PortCastelló reached 1,878,242 tons, a 17.4% increase compared to the previous year.
Regarding other types of cargo, solid bulk grew by 15.7% (817,902 tons), while general merchandise increased by 28.7% (132,379 tons). Liquid bulk saw a growth of 17.5%. In container traffic, there was a 30.7% increase, with 10,441 TEUs handled.
These results confirm the port's upward trend, with double-digit growth across all its business lines. In the cumulative figures for July, total traffic increased by 8.88% (11,759,144 tons), with notable growth in general merchandise (+53.65%) and TEUs (+41.95%, reaching 87,005).
The president of the Port Authority of Castellón, Rubén Ibáñez, highlighted that 'the port of Castellón continues to boom, with a clear upward trajectory in its traffic'.
The main goods handled up to July include Crude Oil (GL) with 3,132,728 tons, followed by Feldspar (GS) with 2,095,010 tons. Also noteworthy are Gasolines (GL), Kaolin (GS), and Fuel Oil (GL), with a 43.7% growth for Kaolin year-to-date.
Solid bulk accounts for 43.3% of total traffic, liquid bulk for 47.1%, and general merchandise for 6.8%. The main commercial destinations are Turkey, Morocco, Brazil, Kazakhstan, and Romania.
