The Port Authority of Alicante will lead a provincial delegation to Miami next week to promote the province at Seatrade Cruise Global 2026, the world's most important cruise fair.

This event, held from April 13 to 16 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, will gather over 11,500 attendees and 650 exhibitors from 125 countries, including more than 80 cruise lines. Alicante's participation is part of the Puertos del Estado stand, under the slogan “Blue Carpet. Make your landing unforgettable”.
The delegation will be led by the president of the Port Authority of Alicante, Luis Rodríguez, accompanied by David Nadal, head of the Business and Corporate Strategy Department; Francesco Balbi, director of the Alicante Cruise Terminal and president of the Alicante Cruise Tourism Association; and Mar López, representing the Costa Blanca Provincial Tourism Board.

The Port of Alicante is consolidating its position as the gateway to the province and its many tourist destinations, from the emblematic beaches of the Costa Blanca to the inland towns, which retain their Mediterranean charm.

During the fair, the delegation has scheduled about twenty meetings with international cruise lines and operators. The main objective is to strengthen Alicante's position on the global cruise map, consolidating its role as a port of call and moving towards its designation as a homeport for premium and expedition cruise routes. The aim is also to increase stopovers as an embarkation port, prioritizing the quality of the tourist product and fostering sustainable and deseasonalized growth.
Cruise activity is a key economic driver for the province. It is estimated that by 2026, the impact of cruise tourism could reach 85 million euros, thanks to direct and indirect spending by passengers and crews. The Port Authority remains committed to a responsible tourism model, investing in sustainable infrastructure and energy-efficient services.
