According to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the Comunitat Valenciana has accumulated ten consecutive months of growth in overnight stays. This increase reflects a positive trend in the region's tourism sector.
During March, hotels in the region hosted 5.61% more tourists than in the same period last year, reaching 780,720 travelers. Of these, 401,135 (51.38%) were residents of Spain, while 379,585 (48.62%) were foreign residents. The number of travelers residing in Spain grew by 4.3%, and foreign travelers increased by 7%.
Regarding the total overnight stays, 1,077,176 were made by residents of Spain (46.05%), and 1,261,837 (53.95%) by foreign residents. The average daily rate per room was 84.2 euros, representing a year-on-year increase of 4.1%. Overall, prices rose by 6.86% compared to the previous year in the Comunitat Valenciana.
Hotel occupancy in the Comunitat Valenciana reached 54.3% in March. The hotel sector employed 16,770 people, maintaining the same employment level as the previous year. At the autonomous community level, the Canary Islands registered the highest occupancy rate per bed, with 74.93%, followed by Madrid (58.77%) and the Comunitat Valenciana (54.3%).
