The visit of the Ford Europe executive to the Valencian factory served to reaffirm the commitment to the plant. Following the meeting with worker representatives, UGT announced that teams will be activated to oversee the launch of the future multi-energy model.
“"I see Valencia playing a fundamental role in the transformation of Ford Europe."
The union highlighted that this new vehicle will allow for a reduction in the number of people managed daily under the ERTE (Temporary Employment Regulation File), and that the commitment of the Electrification Agreement signed in 2022 is materializing, ensuring the recovery of activity in the medium and long term.
UGT added that an agreement is expected soon to regulate the new emerging functions, which will be governed by the Career Development Plans (PDC), providing certainty for the coming years. These steps mark the beginning of a new era for the factory and preparation for the vehicle's launch.
In contrast, STM Intersindical has denounced that the situation remains unchanged, criticizing union management and the loss of jobs and purchasing power in recent years. They have called the current situation an “insult” and demanded the announcement of new models for the Almussafes plant.
