The agreement, presented this Thursday at a large-scale event, establishes a new ownership structure at the plant, where Ford maintains 66% and Geely 34%. This collaboration aims primarily to ensure the viability of the facilities and secure both direct and indirect employment, totaling more than 15,000 jobs in the Ribera Baixa region.
Institutional representatives have positively valued the decision, highlighting that the agreement puts an end to a period of uncertainty regarding the workload. They indicated that this investment reinforces the technological capacity and human talent of the Valencian plant, positioning it as a benchmark in the mobility of the future.

During the presentation, it was confirmed that the RED mechanism, aimed at protecting employment, will be extended until the end of 2026. The plant's management noted that this step marks the beginning of a new era for the next fifty years of industrial activity in Almussafes.
