This growth, which doubles the national average of 10.1%, is attributed to the strong demand for public works materials, especially those dedicated to the recovery of areas affected by the dana. The Spanish National Association of Prepared Concrete Manufacturers (ANEFHOP) highlighted that, in addition to reconstruction efforts, infrastructure project advancements and building activity also fueled this demand.
Forecasts for the current year suggest that activity will remain at high levels, supported by the continuation of ongoing projects and the constant need for infrastructure investment. Last year, prepared concrete production reached 3.43 million cubic meters, intensifying in the fourth quarter with a 27.3% increase.
“"The performance of the Comunitat Valenciana reflects the sector's potential when investment and execution needs converge, but it also highlights the challenges that condition its development, such as the lack of labor and the pace of project execution, which hinder the full translation of demand into production."
By province, Valencia concentrated the largest volume of production with 1.83 million m³ and a 32% growth. It was followed by Alicante with 1.16 million m³ and a 5.2% increase, while Castellón recorded just under half a million m³ with a 26.2% growth.
