The Castelló City Council will allocate 800,000 euros to a new commercial voucher campaign, to be activated before Black Friday to encourage consumption and sales in local businesses.

The Castelló City Council has approved the guidelines for a new edition of the commercial voucher campaign, with an injection of 800,000 euros. This initiative, carried out in collaboration with the Confederation of Employers of Commerce, Services and Self-Employed of the Valencian Community (Confecomerç-CV), aims to benefit consumers with discounts and boost sales in the city's commercial sector.
The Mayor of Castelló, Begoña Carrasco, highlighted the municipal government's commitment to the commercial sector, considered "essential" for the city's daily life, job creation, and economic revitalization. "We are supporting Castelló's commerce like no other municipal government has done before," she stated.
Citizens will be able to purchase vouchers worth 10, 25, 50, and 100 euros, which can be spent at double their value. The campaign will begin in late October or early November, with a prior period for interested businesses to register. This was explained by the Councillor for Commerce and Consumption, Alberto Vidal.
As an important novelty for this year, a physical space staffed by specialized personnel will be available to help elderly people acquire the vouchers, as many have difficulties using the mobile application.
Alberto Vidal also recalled other initiatives to support local commerce, such as special campaigns for significant dates, neighborhood markets, the launch of the Marketplace, and smart lockers, which are having great success and help modernize traditional commerce and promote online sales.
According to a report by the PATECO Office, commerce is evolving towards more specialized establishments that offer differentiated products and a personalized shopping experience as added value compared to exclusively online commerce. Digitalization, specialization, and collaboration between the administration and merchants are key to the future, Vidal concluded.
