The European Union has recognized the company Callnak, located at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche Science Park (PCUMH), as a success case in the implementation of additive manufacturing in the footwear sector. This recognition is part of a platform promoted by the European Commission to disseminate business models aligned with European priorities of digitalization, sustainability, and innovation in the textile, footwear, and fashion sector.
Its appearance on an official EU platform represents an institutional validation of Callnak's business model. The European Commission presents it as an example of how additive manufacturing and digital design can transform the industry towards more innovative, sustainable, and efficient practices. This visibility strengthens the company's positioning with clients, investors, and partners, and links it with European initiatives for the digital transition of the sector.
The recognition also highlights the support Callnak has received from the UMH Science Park in terms of funding, entrepreneurship, and legal advice. The EU thus emphasizes the role of ecosystems like PCUMH in the creation and consolidation of technological start-ups with international reach, reinforcing the park's work as a driver of innovative companies.
Currently, Callnak is undergoing a private funding round of 250,000 euros to boost its growth and technological development. According to its promoters, Ignacio Español and Pablo Jaspers, approximately 30% of this investment has already been secured.
Recent advancements suggest significant potential for 3D printing in footwear manufacturing, and Callnak's case demonstrates its application from digital design to the production of complete shoes.
