The Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) has launched the Master's Degree in Actuarial and Financial Sciences to address the growing demand for professionals specialized in risk management and economic impact.

Actuaries, using statistical data to assess risks, have become indispensable in financial institutions thanks to the treatment of Big Data and the use of new technologies. The master's program aims to equip students with advanced prediction techniques for business decision-making, providing high-value quantitative solutions.
The tasks of actuaries include designing risk coverage products, managing portfolios and assets, planning pensions, and designing financial strategies. The master's location at the Madrid-Quintana campus, in the Arguelles neighborhood, is highlighted as a significant advantage due to its infrastructure.
The program features a practical approach and is open to research, including internships in actuarial and financial entities with which the URJC maintains collaboration agreements. The faculty combines academics from the URJC and other research institutions with highly respected professional actuaries, risk managers, and consultants.
This master's degree is endorsed by the Spanish Institute of Actuaries and qualifies for professional practice at the European level, as it is adapted to the European Actuarial Core Syllabus. According to the INE's Labor Insertion Survey, it is one of the degrees with the highest employment rates and career prospects.
Professional opportunities are extensive, both in the private sector (insurance companies, banks, pension fund managers) and the public sector (State Insurance Inspectors Corps, National Securities Market Commission, Social Security Actuaries, Statisticians, and Economists Corps, among others).
