The restaurant chain Papa Johns is celebrating its first decade of operation in the Spanish market this week. To mark this anniversary, the company has organized a series of activations in various capitals, with Madrid being one of the main venues for the installation of an interactive device called the «orejona machine».
On Tuesday, May 19, the company will place a large-format structure, over two meters high, on the exterior esplanade of Príncipe Pío. The device, operational between 11:00 AM and 6:30 PM, is designed to invite passersby to participate in a symbolic raffle related to the brand's ten-year celebration in the country.
The event's mechanics involve attendees activating a counter by interacting with the device. When the counter reaches the number ten, the system issues a notification that credits the participant with a ticket redeemable for a free pizza. According to sources from the organization, the projection is to distribute more than 1,000 pizzas through this initiative.
The company began its commercial rollout in Spain in 2016 with the opening of its first location at Calle Serrano 203. Since its arrival, it has expanded its network to the current 98 establishments nationwide. The tickets distributed during this public activation can be redeemed at the chain's physical stores between May 26 and June 10, subject to the conditions stipulated by the company for prize redemption.
