During February 2026, the Community of Madrid registered the formation of 2,615 new commercial companies, marking a 31% increase compared to the same period last year. This figure positions the region as a national leader, accounting for 20.6% of all companies established in Spain, ahead of Catalonia (2,469) and Andalusia (2,138).
Data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) also indicates that the subscribed capital for these new Madrid-based companies reached 119.1 million euros. This amount represents a 41.9% increase from February 2025, making up 22.3% of the total subscribed capital nationwide.
For the cumulative first two months of 2026, the Community of Madrid maintains its dominant position with the creation of 5,098 new businesses, equivalent to 21% of the national total, with an average of 86 formations daily. This growth is 19.1% higher than in the same period last year, with Catalonia (4,864) and Andalusia (4,056) following.
The subscribed capital for new Madrid companies in this first two-month period totals 230.3 million euros, representing 19.3% of the national total, with an average capitalization of 45,176 euros per company.
