The 'Green Employment Hub' program, driven by Konecta Foundation and JPMorgan Chase, has concluded its Madrid phase with 262 job placements and awareness raised among over 4,100 young people and vulnerable groups regarding sustainable job opportunities.
The initiative, which expanded to Andalusia in 2025 with support from Fundación Endesa, has facilitated 770 green employment pathways, fostering a just ecological transition. In Madrid, the program enabled 2,745 individuals to access green job opportunities, involving 1,372 direct participants and 547 training pathways. Additionally, 423 students completed internships, and 185 vulnerable youths and individuals from the region secured stable employment.
During the results presentation, held on the eve of World Environment Day, the importance of qualifying young people and groups at risk of social exclusion for the green sector was emphasized. Speakers included Rosa Queipo de Llano (Vice President of Konecta Foundation), Julio Meseguer (Managing Director of Global Corporate Banking Spain & Portugal at JPMorganChase), and José Antonio Martínez Páramo (Delegate Councilor for Cleaning and Green Spaces of the Madrid City Council).
A debate panel explored 'The DNA of Green Talent,' highlighting the need for practical profiles connected to business needs in areas such as urban renaturalization, sustainable gardening, and the circular economy. Experts like Alicia Galnares (El Ejidillo Viveros Integrales) and Eduardo Pérez Ruiz (GVC Valorización) agreed on the importance of both technical and transversal skills, as well as public-private collaboration.
The guide 'Green Neighborhoods: Renaturalization in Urban Infrastructure with Specialization for Local Employment in Getafe' was presented, a pilot project designed to be replicable, aiming to promote green employment and inclusion through collaboration between public administration, specialized companies, and the Employment Hub.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing social entities like Ayuda en Acción, training centers such as AGREMIA, public administrations like the Coslada City Council, and companies like Veolia. Special mentions were given to the Madrid City Council, Fundación Universia, Fundación Mapfre, and Fundación Endesa for their contributions to the program.
