The Burriana City Council and the Castellón Chamber of Commerce have formalized an agreement to analyze and attract industrial investment opportunities, aiming to revitalize the 1.5 million square meters of available land in the locality.
This strategic alliance seeks to leverage one of the largest industrial land reserves in the province, transforming it into a key driver for job creation and local economic development. The signing ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Burriana, Jorge Monferrer, the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Mª Dolores Guillamón Fajardo, and the Councillor for Commerce, Suni Fandos.
The program, with a total budget of 10,600 euros, will be implemented in two phases. The first phase will focus on territorial analysis and prioritizing high-potential sectors such as renewable energies, sustainable green technology, advanced logistics, and the metal industry. The second phase will involve identifying relevant stakeholders, investment funds, and expanding companies to generate concrete investment projects for the municipality.
“
"This agreement with the Chamber of Commerce is fundamental to harness the enormous potential of our industrial land. We want it to cease being a possibility on paper and become a reality generating wealth and employment. We are not looking for just any investment, but those that bring added value, sustainability, and quality employment to our city."
Burriana aims to capitalize on the current context of supply chain nearshoring and the growth of port logistics to position itself as a strategic hub, complementing PortCastelló and the Valencia-Sagunt axis. This agreement will allow the city council of the capital of La Plana Baixa to benefit from the technical leadership of the Chamber and its access to an extensive network of national and international contacts.

"Having the technical endorsement and network of contacts of the Chamber allows us to professionalize the attraction of companies to the maximum. Burriana has ideal conditions such as proximity to the port, connection to the Mediterranean Corridor, and the uniqueness of large available areas to attract future sectors such as electric mobility or agri-food logistics. With this agreement, we put Burriana on the radar of major industrial investments."
