The president of the Diputación, Valentín González Formoso, and the deputy for Employment, Industry, and Environment, Rosa Ana García, met with the board of AXOBER, chaired by Diego Iglesias, at the entity's new headquarters in Carballo. The meeting focused on the economic, business, and labor situation in Bergantiños, the difficulties companies face in finding qualified staff, and concerns about young people moving to cities.
The proposal to create a grant program aims to supplement professional training through practical learning in companies, aligning training with the specific needs of the business sector and encouraging young people to develop their professional and personal projects in rural areas. This program would extend beyond Bergantiños and be developed in collaboration with other business entities in rural areas of the province.
Support for local commerce in municipalities with over 20,000 inhabitants, such as Carballo, which are not covered by the MercaNaVila program, was also discussed. The Diputación is exploring ways to support this local commerce through agreements with business entities.
The meeting also provided an overview of AXOBER's growth phase, having increased its associated companies from 86 to over 200 in the last two years, strengthening its representation and support for entrepreneurs in the region.
