The works council of VoithPaper in Tolosa has denounced the proposed layoff of fifteen employees by the company, even as it negotiates a temporary employment regulation file (ERTE) citing productive reasons.

The committee, comprising five representatives from ELA and four from LAB, has rejected these layoffs in a statement. They have also criticized the company for allegedly attempting to use worker representatives as a “transmission belt” for its intentions.
The unions believe that the business group “solely aims to increase its profit margin at the expense of jobs and working conditions for the VoithPaper Tolosa workforce.” This metal sector company, which serves the paper industry, employs 186 workers.

"The company itself acknowledged that it wants to expand its positive margin from 7% to 10%."
