The Palestinarekin Elkartasuna group has called for a demonstration in Beasain on June 13th, outside the CAF Shareholders' Meeting, to protest the company's alleged complicity with the State of Israel.

The Palestinarekin Elkartasuna group has organized a demonstration for next June 13th in Beasain, coinciding with the CAF Shareholders' Meeting. Several members of the group held a press conference at the main entrance of the CAF factory to announce the mobilization.
From June 6th to 13th, the BDS movement has called for a global week of action around CAF's headquarters. In addition to the mobilization in Beasain, actions will take place on June 4th and 12th at the AIC research center in Amorebieta, on June 6th in Irún (where it manufactures), and on June 10th in Castejón (a subsidiary of CAF, Trenasa).
The demonstration in Beasain will start on June 13th at 12:00 PM from the main square of Beasain. According to the group, the aim is to "denounce the criminal business dealings of CAF and the Basque Government, to make visible that the money they will distribute is stained with Palestinian blood, and to proclaim that on the path to Israel's victory, all complicit relationships must be fought against".
The group has denounced that nearly three years have passed since October 2023, and the genocide continues to escalate without pause, yet the "wealth stained with the blood of genocide and apartheid does not cease in the hands of many Basque Country businessmen." Among them, they have targeted CAF, and will use the shareholders' meeting to bring their demands to the public. They explained that CAF does business with the Israeli company Shapir and holds multi-million euro contracts for the construction of trams in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
According to Palestinarekin Elkartasuna, CAF "helps to consolidate the colonization project of the genocidal state" by strengthening Israeli companies and the economy of colonization. They recalled that the United Nations included CAF in its database of companies supporting the occupation, and that seven organizations filed a complaint with the Spanish Public Prosecutor's Office against the board of directors.
Given that the Basque Government owns 3% of CAF's shares, they stated that "the Government is also responsible for CAF's criminal contracts," especially "as it does so with public money." Therefore, they have called for participation in the demonstration to be held before the CAF Shareholders' Meeting.
