The Legazpi Local Energy Community held its first annual assembly this Wednesday at the Latxartegi hall, six months after its launch and with all membership spots filled.

The community currently has 200 members and operates photovoltaic installations at Olamendi, the Bikuña sports center, and the old Brinkola-Telleriarte schools. The project was made possible through support from the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa.
During the meeting, members discussed the renewal of the board of directors and the financial status of the community. Given the positive response, the board decided to install additional batteries at the Brinkola-Telleriarte building and the sports center to increase energy storage capacity.
Although the activation of the sports center facilities has been delayed by bureaucratic procedures, they are expected to be operational soon. This will allow members to benefit from self-consumption and achieve savings on their electricity bills.
