The three workforces, which will merge into the company on June 1st, held a concentration in front of the firm to specifically denounce the manner in which the dismissals occurred. Employees stated that these decisions were made with a “total lack of sensitivity and respect” towards colleagues who have dedicated years of effort and professionalism to the company.
“"Beyond the number of people affected, we want to specifically denounce the ways in which these decisions have been carried out. We believe that there has been a total lack of sensitivity and respect towards colleagues who have dedicated years of effort, commitment, and professionalism."
This group of workers believes that behind every dismissal there are individuals, families, and life projects that deserve to be treated with dignity. They acknowledge that business decisions can be made, but insist that they should never be executed in a cold, hasty manner and without the human consideration that the situation demands.
With this concentration, held in Zarautz's Errotaberri Industrial Park, they aimed to convey their solidarity to the dismissed individuals, while also expressing concern about the work environment generated by such actions. Employees advocate for a model of labor relations based on respect, transparency, and dialogue, and urge the company to cease these practices.
“"We demand a model of labor relations based on respect, transparency, and dialogue. And that the company puts an end to this way of acting. Because today it is our colleagues, but tomorrow it could be any of us."
This afternoon's concentration received the support of 72% of the workforces, directly or indirectly.
