Pharmacist Izaro Oyarbide has taken over the presidency of the Gipuzkoa College of Pharmacists (COFG) for the next four years, having been the sole candidate.

Miguel Ángel Gastelurrutia, who served as president for 11 years across two terms, has now passed the position to Oyarbide. She will lead with her team, which includes Ane Otaegui as vice-president, Elixabete Lasa as secretary, Lierni Mendiaraz as treasurer, and board members Idoia Carlota Fernández and Enrique Rodríguez.
The leadership change ceremony was held at the GOe, the new center of the Basque Culinary Center located on Avenida de Navarra. Gastelurrutia thanked his colleagues for their collaboration, while Oyarbide expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her and highlighted the crucial role of pharmacists in citizen health.
Attendees included former presidents such as María Asunción Azpeitia, Ángel Garay, Miguel Azpilicueta, Petra Aguirre, and Javier de Miguel, alongside institutional representatives like Iñaki Betolaza, Deputy Minister of Health Administration and Financing for the Basque Government, and Rita de la Plaza, president of the General Council of Official Colleges of Pharmacists.
