The Basque Government, through the Department of Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability, annually grants the Joxe Mari Korta Saria to Basque businesspeople who stand out for their life and business trajectory. In this edition, the awardee is the industrialist Amaia Susperregui.
The jury unanimously decided to award the prize to Susperregui for her commitment to roots, excellence, her closeness to the business fabric, her institutional commitment, and her sustained contribution to the economic and industrial development of Euskadi.
This award bears the name of Joxe Mari Korta, a businessman and president of ADEGI, murdered by ETA in 2000. It represents the highest distinction granted by the Basque Government in the business field and will be presented on October 22 at Ajuria Enea palace, in an event presided over by Lehendakari Imanol Pradales.
Amaia Susperregui, president of Jaso Group and a native of Ordizia, holds a degree in Economics and Business Sciences from the University of Deusto. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated an approach to professional activity based on rigor, constancy, industrial excellence, and a vocation for service.
Susperregui began her professional career in 1991 at Jaso Equipos de Obras S.A., a company dedicated to the design and manufacture of tower cranes for construction. She has held various positions of responsibility within the group, such as Financial Director, and has participated in business restructuring processes.
