The management of Ferosca Wind has announced it will file an appeal against the Álava Provincial Council's decision to deny the permit for the Ferosca I wind farm.

Fernando Valldeperes, CEO of Ferosca Wind, has stated that the Delta Power subsidiary disagrees with the Álava Provincial Council's resolution and will file an appeal for the construction of the Ferosca I wind farm. The provincial institution has denied the permit required for the energy infrastructure.
According to the company, the 1995 General Urban Planning Plan (PGOU) regulations should not have the authority to halt wind projects, as such initiatives for promoting renewable energy did not exist at that time. Valldeperes has argued that the wind farm is of public interest and that these arguments will be used to persuade the Council to change its opinion.

"In our opinion, the 1995 PGOU regulations should not have the authority to halt wind projects."

Ferosca Wind management
This is not the first obstacle Ferosca Wind has encountered. Previously, in May, the public institution prohibited the construction of three out of the six planned wind turbines, citing risks to biodiversity. Furthermore, the municipalities of Aiala and Llodio, along with significant public initiatives, have also expressed opposition, submitting over 1,000 objections and an appeal from local residents.
