Interested individuals can hand in their old mobile phones at Euskaltel stores in Euskadi and Navarra, as well as at the Bizkaia Euskaltel Digital Center. The collected devices will contribute to humanitarian and environmental projects.
The campaign will take place in Euskaltel's 45 stores across Euskadi and Navarra and at the Bizkaia Euskaltel Digital Center in Bilbao, which will feature collection boxes and informational brochures. Store staff will also inform customers about the initiative when they visit to upgrade their devices.
Fernando Seco, marketing director at Euskaltel, highlighted the company's commitment to its environment and its drive to promote impactful initiatives.
Julia Aramendi, Corporate Alliances Manager at Alboan, emphasized the impact of technological device manufacturing and the project's goals in reuse, recycling, and humanitarian funding.
‘Mobiles for the Earth’ has a dual objective: firstly, to promote more sustainable electronic waste management by giving old devices a second life; and secondly, to generate resources for humanitarian and environmental projects through the funds obtained.
