Following the data released by the Basque Government, the PP has argued that the rise in rental contracts is primarily due to an increase in temporary arrangements. The party contends that this trend masks a significant decline in the availability of stable, long-term housing options.
According to the opposition, the supply of long-term rentals in the three main Basque capitals has plummeted by an average of 27%. They claim this reduction creates additional barriers for young people and middle-income families attempting to secure housing.
The party also criticized the Basque Government's housing policies, asserting that current measures have failed to address affordability, effectively limiting the rental market in Euskadi to those with higher salary levels.
