This amount is, however, surpassed by the average for permanent disability pensions, totaling 13,128 in Gipuzkoa in April, which amounts to 1,624.2 euros. The Ministry of Social Security also provides data on the remaining two categories: the 4,844 orphan's pensions paid in April in Gipuzkoan territory had an average amount of 631.4 euros, and those for family members, 522, reached 1,032 euros.
The public pension system includes a series of supplements for certain cases, such as individuals who do not reach the minimum, with 17,517 such benefits registered in Gipuzkoa. The second case is aimed at women in a gender gap situation. According to Social Security, 25,267 supplements were recorded in April, with an average of 74 euros. Most recipients have two children in their care, followed by those with one.
Across the Basque Country, the Ministry of Social Security, Inclusion and Migration recorded 531,848 pensioners in April, although the number of pensions is higher as some individuals receive more than one. The average pension, at 1,679 euros, remains the highest in Spain, where the national average is 1,368 euros, bringing the total payroll for these allocations to 989.4 million euros.
