Aimed at fostering entrepreneurship in Álava, the 'Your Idea Counts' contest has achieved a record participation in its 22nd edition, receiving 84 applications. From these, 18 projects have been chosen as finalists and will compete for 1,000 euro prizes in various categories, totaling over 10,000 euros.
The finalists were announced at an Ekin Coffee event for entrepreneurs. The jury, composed of key entrepreneurial agents from the region, highlighted projects utilizing tools such as artificial intelligence. The selected ideas span diverse fields including health, industry, commerce-tourism, agri-food, and sustainability.
In each of these categories, finalists will be eligible for a 1,000 euro award.
Project presentations will take place on May 6th at 6:30 PM at the Palacio de Villa Suso. Admission to this event will be free with prior registration on the alavaemprende.com website. Subsequently, the jury will decide the winners, and the awards will be announced on May 21st at the Ekin Day event, held at the Palacio Europa.
During Ekin Day, in addition to the general category prizes, two special awards will be presented: the Entrepreneurial Trajectory Award and the Entrepreneurship in Álava Award. The latter recognizes the best business development initiative in Álava over the past 5 years.
