The union organization considers this action a "violation of fundamental rights" and has already filed a complaint with Labor Inspection, announcing it will also take the case to court.
According to UGT, the management of Serveis Ambientals del Vallès Oriental (SAVOSA), with the "connivance" of the Works Council chaired by the CATAC union, issued orders to bar the entry of their representatives. Furthermore, it is alleged that employees on sick leave were forced to register beforehand to participate in the assembly, where the pre-agreement proposal for the future collective agreement was being debated.
SAVOSA is the public company that manages the selective waste collection service in the region through the Consorci per a la Gestió dels Residus del Vallès Oriental.
Jose Luís López Carrasco, UGT's regional representative, stated that this practice is "totally illegal." The CATAC union, which is the majority union at SAVOSA, supports the pre-agreement for the collective agreement, but UGT deems it "unacceptable" for incorporating "regressive measures and loss of rights" for the workers.
