The Terres de l'Ebre region is emerging as a major center for wind energy production in Catalonia, with plans to install a quarter of the autonomous community's total megawatts by 2050.

According to reports, the four counties of the Ebre region will rank among the top ten in wind power generation. Specifically, Terra Alta and Ribera d'Ebre are expected to be the third and fourth counties, respectively, with the most installed megawatts across Catalonia.
This commitment to renewable energy is complemented by sustainable tourism initiatives. Recently, a pilot project for river navigation along the Ebre, from Ascó to the Alfacs bay, involving German rowers, aims to position the region within European sustainable fluvial tourism circuits.
