Sisters Mireia and Núria Llonch, the current owners, have announced the cessation of operations, motivated by their retirement. The establishment, which has been a reference point for many customers, hopes to bid farewell without sadness, but by remembering the good times experienced over these decades.
The history of Perfumeria Marfil dates back to December 1, 1941, when chemist Miquel Massanés first opened its doors on the same street. Initially, his intention was to establish a perfumery and cosmetics factory, but difficulties in obtaining industrial permits after the Civil War led him to open a shop.
The shop began by selling bulk colognes, manufactured by Massanés himself, including the successful Marfil cologne. Customers could also find soaps, toothpaste, and products like Floïd massages. Later, the business passed to his daughter, Anna Maria, and finally to his granddaughters, Mireia and Núria, who have continued the family tradition.
Throughout its history, the family business has adapted to new needs, eventually opening up to four establishments in Terrassa at different times: a second shop in Raval de Montserrat in the eighties, a third on Carrer de Gutenberg, and a fourth on Portal de Sant Roc in the late nineties.
